Enchanted Polish - Octopus's Garden

Enchanted Polish Octopus's Garden
Enchanted Polish Octopus's Garden

This is an amazing polish! It's duochrome, or maybe multichrome would be a better description, since in different lights it flashes from coppery-orange to blue-violet with all the shades of pink and purple between. And if that's not enough, there's a sprinkle of holo goodness through there too :)

The formula is easy to apply and fully opaque in three coats. I've found that some duochromes tend to streakiness, but that's not a problem with this one. I used three coats of Octopus's Garden and a coat of Seche Vite for this mani; I've taken the pictures through the day in different lights and from different angles to show the full range of colours. Believe me, this is all the same polish!

Firstly, in indirect light at the window,  Octopus's Garden is magenta-purple, with a bit of coppery flash around the edges

At a slightly different angle, it becomes a much more violet shade, and you can see the holo shimmer. I wasn't really able to do the holo part of this polish any justice in any of my pictures.

I was lucky enough to take a trip to the beach today, and although it was  very cold, the sun was shining. Brightly! This is what Octopus's Garden looks like in bright, outdoors sunlight, reflecting from the beach.........

The drips of water make an interesting effect too - more about that in a bit!

Then, in indirect, evening sunlight (we've moved onto British Summertime, which gives us light evenings - great for taking nail pictures after work. And sensible stuff like running and cycling in the evenings too, of course) the colours show up much warmer - here the polish looks more copper-pink-magenta:

And here's a shot, again in the softer evening light, where I tried to capture how all the colours show on the nail - slightly odd hand pose to achieve this!

And finally, because I've never tried this before, I took a couple of pictures underwater. This makes duochromes just astonishing.......... I really need to wear this polish when I'm swimming to enjoy it properly!

I purchased Octopus's Garden directly from Enchanted Polish at her website here; she ships internationally. Llarowe also carries Enchanted Polish, including Octopus's Garden. Enchanted Polishes do sell out quickly when they are restocked, so you need to be either lucky or on the ball to buy them. Restock information is posted on Enchanted Polish's facebook page.

    1. Thank you! I have a bit of a weakness for duochromes anyway, but this one really is outstanding!
